Dating Agency Cyrano Review

It is but a very rare thing to come across a drama that will keep you hooked onto your computer/TV screen for hours and Dating Agency Cyrano is one such drama. Fresh and exuberating, Cyrano is just another gem from the host of amazing dramas (Nine, She is wow and Queen Inhyun's man to name a few) - tvN and as the notion goes, tvN never disappoints and with this drama, it was so much more evident.

The basic plot revolves around Gong Min Young (Sooyoung) who gets into a dating agency named Cyrano run by Seo Byung Hoon (Lee Jong Hyuk) an ex theatrical director. He manipulates or as he puts it, gives a chance for people to make their loved ones see them in a new light with the help of Ah rang (Joo Yun Woo) and Moojin (Hong Jeong Hyun). While Min Young doesn't believe his methods at first, she slowly starts to warm up to Seo Byung but here in comes Master played by Lee Chun Hee who very much loves Min Young and tries to snatch her away from Seo.

As triangular as the plot sounds, there's much more to it. The main focus of the drama is how Seo Byung brings other people together but cannot ever set his own match. As that remains, clients who come cyrano agency play a big part. And the clients were just awesome because they were some prominent personalities. Taemin acts as an idol who is in love with his classmate, GWANG SOO played the role of a chef who wants a woman that hates him and Jung Yumi  (who played  Juri on Queen of office) acts as a sunako/sawako cosplayer :P that has a secret crush on Go Soo (of BIG and Coffee Prince fame). With guest appearances like that, you better not heck it up and thankfully they don't. I looked forward to each episode with much excitement and I'm glad my expectations were fulfilled. Each client had their own problems and the cyrano members were completely awesome in solving them. My favorite episode had to be the one where Gwang soo (Choi  Dal In) comes in as a client. Gwang Soo is one of my most favorite RM member along with Jihyo and I was pleasantly surprised to see him make an appearance. I was in splits the entire time watching his episode because Gwang Soo's acting is so much like reality. He acted the same way he does on RM so it was that much more fun to see.

Though most people (at least K-netizens) felt that Idols can only do shit acting, Sooyoung was pretty incredible and this is coming from someone who is not a sone so you can take my word for it. She was miles better than some of the so called actresses out there (-whispers Shin Se Kyung) and I would very much love to see her cast in another drama. She was brilliant and although most people said crap like ''OMG the age difference Guyss'' she actually showed that in acting age doesn't matter. She was comfortable in all her scenes with Seo Byung and I'm sure that must have made Lee Jong Hyuk feel comfortable too. And speaking of Lee Jong Hyuk (My favorite on Dad, where are you going), he played his role as Seo Byung in a quite charming way. I thought he looked a bit uncomfortable at the very first.....maybe the age difference got to him too? But as it went on, he adapted the role perfectly and stayed in character the entire time. Lee Chun Hee (Chunderella <3) who played as Master pulls you to his side till the very end. Ah Rang played By Yun woo was convincing as a cheerful guy. The most sparkling performance though has got to be Moo Jin played brilliantly by the ever awesome Jong Hyun. His robotic performance IMO fulfilled the brief he was given. Overall, the drama should be watched at least once so that you do not regret not watching it (which you will if you don't). You may become tired to watch the triangle sometimes and if you do, just fast forward or bear with it. It only stays on for a few minutes anyway. So, go now watch it before everyone else does.

My rating: 8/10
